Hype is the leading web marketing agency with 120+ employees across 30+ countries worldwide. We are looking for a highly talented, motivated, and responsible CTO to further shape and lead the engineering department on our mission to do our part in building a decentralized future through open source.

Position Description
As CTO you will work with our leadership team to define our strategic vision. You’ll join our highly skilled engineering team and help us build world-class innovative products and services that create new capabilities empowering other blockchain developers. You’ll work closely with our Product Managers to design, develop and deploy new products and features.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Making architecture decisions to ensure strong, stable, and scalable solutions

  • Design, develop, and deploy new systems that enhance throughput, latency, availability, and security

  • Apply cutting-edge research and new developments to daily work

  • Hands-on development of our core business and tech stack

  • Develop company expertise in transaction detection, processing, notification, and analytics for blockchain data

  • Further our team's fundamental understanding of web3 technology through deeper technical research

  • High-level support on advisory contracts when tech insights are valuable

  • Building out our global tech team and outside partnerships over time

  • Work with the team to define the company’s development process

  • Overseeing the global Hype tech technology roadmap and vision

Job requirements

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in tech with some exposure to senior management roles

  • Experience with JavaScript/Typescript, Golang, Solidity/Rust, REST API, AWS/networking

  • Experience building smart contracts

  • Experience using blockchain management tools

  • Experience in blockchain and/or decentralized architecture, consensus, and/or cryptographic systems

  • Understanding of systems operations, backend development & cross-platform data management

  • Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.

  • Agile product development mentality

  • Lean and scrappy startup mentality

  • A deep understanding of both blockchain and business is a big plus

  • Great communication skills and fluent in English

  • Solid executive document creation skills

  • Passionate for Blockchain, Web3, and/or DeFi
